Craving for a Quick Prawn Snack?!
Prawns are my favorite seafood, next to Salmon fish.
I prepare this quick prawn stir fry with minimal use of spices, keeping the flavour of prawns the dominating one.
Prawns are rich in proteins. Thay are also high in cholesterol, but the tendency of the body to produce more cholesterol depends on the amount of fat in a particular food. As Prawns are so low in saturated fats, the cholesterol in the Prawns does not affect much. They can be had once in two weeks for a change. People with Heart diseases and Diabetes have to consume it in moderation as advised by their doctors.
I buy frozen prawns more often here. Back in India fresh Prawns were always available. Fresh prawns can be stored for a day or two, till used in a bowl of cold water with ice cubes once bought from market. I buy and store the frozen prawns for almost a month in the freezer compartment. Always wash and devien the prawns before you cook them.

Highest on my list of favorite foods is seafood. I love its flavor and because it is versatile. I didn´t knöw that people with heart diseases and diabetes have to consume prawns in moderation as advised by their doctors. I only knew that seafood can pose considerable health risks to us all when they are contaminated with substances such as metals, and pesticides.

I love shrimps too. I observed that people in India cook shrimps for longer times when compared to here. Here, it’s cooked for a few minutes only till the shrimps are pink throughout while there(especially at my husband’s place) they boil it forst for half and hour and then cook it. Wonder why…
Nabeela, I always cook the prawns for atleast 10 minutes, I have been having and preparing them so since my childhood~Mona

I think we are sisters in our love for prawns. The whole family knows that I’d kill for prawns!! I just love them so much. Infact, the elders oblige so much that they pick out all the praws & add to my plate, which I shamelessly nod my head to!! Your prawns looks just simple & lovey

Hubby and I love prawns too. (Sadly, my daughter has not taken a liking to them yet.)
This recipe that you have posted can be modified several ways. For instance, you can add a chopped tomato or two which makes it lovely. I add a little powdered coconut for a different flavour. I guess there can be many delicious variations of prawns.
Our local takeaway makes *delicious* tandoori king prawns. I wonder how they make those.
Have you ever made prawn korma Mona? It’s just heavenly.
Yes, This is just a basic simple instant prawn snack, and can be varied in numerous possible ways. I prepare this because it is quick simple and delicious.
Tandoori King Prawns and Prawb Qorma sound yummy!~Mona

HI I AM PLANING A TRIP TO VANCOUVER ISLAND AND WILL BE FISHING FOR PRAWNS COULD SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME THE PROPER WAY TO KILL THEM THANKS PAUL
Paul, prawns wont survive for a long time after being removed from water. Put them in ice after you fish and either cook them live, or freeze them for a few hours which will put them to sleep~Mona

My dad and I love shrimp and he used to buy them in large quantities whenever he did. My mom used to cook them like this, of course without adding water, to save it in fridge for future uses. I noticed that the shrimp here cook well this way in comparison to the regular way of tossing them in halfway through the curry.
